    Tasting Notes:

    Named after Project Crimson, a Charitable Conservation Trust focused on saving two red-flowering native trees, sponsored by Ata Rangi. This Pinot Noir is made from younger parcels of vines from various plots on the Marlborough Terrace. It is a complex wine with vibrant acidity; the nose is full of mulberry and bramble fruits with hints of spice; the palate long with ripe red fruits and fine grained tannins.

  • Capezzane Barco Reale di Carmignano

    Tasting Notes:

    The Carmignano region of the Chianti area was one of the earliest areas of wine production to be regulated, where Cabernet Sauvignon was one of the first wines to be permitted, gaining DOC status in 1975 and DOCG in 1990. With aromas of plums and cherries and a touch of oak, it is ripe and rounded on the palate and shows fine tannins with a touch of spice. 100% organic.

  • Dobogo Tokaji Furmint

    Tasting Notes:

    Dobogo was founded in 1869 and is in the centre of Tokaj hill at around 220 metres above sea level . It is owned by the Zwack family. The grapes for the wine come from 35 year old vineyards in Betsek & Szent Tamas areas of Mad planted with a mixture of 60% Furmint , 30% Harslevelu, and 10% Muscat Lunel. This wine is purely Furmint using short spur pruning to keep yields to 1 kilo per vine . Hand harvested , fermented using indigenous Yeasts in 3/4 year old Hungarian oak casks of 300-500 litre capacity. Lees stirred weekly for 6 months before bottling . This is one of the most mineral Furmint in Dobogo's history. Pale golden in colour , minerality on the nose with citrus and hints of orange peel . Full of character and rich on the palate .

    Mt Difficulty was formed in the late 90's when 5 owners of newly planted vineyards in Bannockburn , Central Otago shook hands to form the group. Mt Difficulty now has some of the oldest vineyards in the area on South Island . The microclimate of the Bannockburn area is recognised as one of the best areas for premium grape growing . There are over 40 hectares of vineyards . This wine has a nose of fruit salad followed by a rich and full bodied palate with apricot and peach, melon and mango and a touch of spice , hint of sweetness and a refreshing finish.

    Quincy was the first French white wine to be given AOC status in1936. Jean and his wife Chantal Tatum farm 20 hectares in Quincy making Classic crystalline Sauvignon Blanc planted on Kimmeridgian limestone giving purity and minerality . The grapes come from 4 parcels of vines in the heart of Quincy on the banks of the River Cher. 90% of the vines were planted in the 60's. All parcels have different soils . 2019 was a drought vintage. So reduced in size due to three heatwaves. Harvest started in first week of September. The wine is bright yellow with lively citrus aroma, Granny Smith apple and fresh cut grass and subtle floral notes . A refreshing palate with lemon intensity, and bright acids and a long and lingering finish.

    This Domaine was established in 1967 by the joining of the Rolly and Gassman families now run by Pierre . Thy have 52 hectares of vineyards in the Haut-Rhin region . The winery is famous for its collection of vintages available , 5 years worth of stock only released when ready . New winery called the cathedral built into the hillside , all gravity feed in 2019. All grapes are organically or biodynamic farmed and made although yet to be certified. The 2016 vintage needed careful management until the end of August . Traditional vinification 8-12 hours pressing followed by a wild yeast ferment for 5 months then 2 months rest on its lees . Bright yellow in colour , a very expressive nose of jasmine and exotic fruits . A complex and rich palate with a fresh finish . Outstanding example .

    This winery has produced premium reds in the Barossa since 1984 liking Rhone varieties . Great emphasis is placed on the quality of the fruit . All grapes are dry grown and harvested from the wineries 80 acres of vineyards, as well as from a select group of grape growers . Yields are low because of the age of the vines. This wine is made from 64% Grenache and 27% Shiraz and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. All crushed and destemed then cold soaked for 48 hours . The juice is then drained and the skins were pressed . Only the free run juice is used for this deeply coloured rose , settled then racked of there lees then fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to retain elegant fruit and aromatics. The wine is named after Charles wife Virginia , vibrant cerise rose, full bodied and crisp. A bouquet of Turkish delight seasoned with pe-per and spice. Perfect summer drinking

    Young winemakers do not fear! It is not usual to find an orange wine in the Alicante region. The nose is very aromatic showing orange peel notes, ginger & Christmas spices. Juicy on the palate, the tannins are there but not aggressive nor bitter. The vines are organically grown and the amount of added sulphites is minimal. The wine is naturally cloudy with some deposit due to the skin maceration time and the absence of filtration.
